Dear Colleagues and
Friends,
At last we have the
privilege to invite you to the 11th SASUOG congress to be
held at Ilanga Estate, Bloemfontein from the 7th to the 9th
of May 2010, a month before soccer mania hits South Africa.
The name Ilanga means
"sunshine" in Xhosa, true to its name you will enjoy the
same radiant warmth and hospitality from us. Ilanga Estate
has been created in the response to the need for a stylish
venue with excellent service. Ilanga Estate is situated to
the north of Bloemfontein (approximately 10 minutes drive
from the city centre of Bloemfontein) on a tranquil estate
with beautiful gardens and an exquisite ambience.
A variety of 4 star and 5
star hotels in Bloemfontein have been booked for the
Congress, all within a 10 minute drive from Ilanga Estate. A
complimentary shuttle service will be available between
these hotels and Ilanga Estate. As usual the pre-congress
workshop will be held on Thursday the 6th of May, the day
before the congress starts. This workshop will be held at
Universitas hospital.
The theme of the congress
is “Ultrasound: art in practice” This was chosen to convey
the art and expertise needed in ultrasound imaging. As part
of this theme we are planning art exhibitions at the venue
during the congress.
With the scientific program
we will cover not only advanced ultrasound but also the
basics. Three International speakers Yves Ville, Lou
Pistorius and Nick Fenning will share their knowledge on a
variety of topics in Obstetrics and Gynaecological
ultrasound.
The organising committee
invite you to the heart of the Free State to come and enjoy
what we hope will be a memorable and learning occasion for
you as our guests.
Dr Francois Cilliers
Convenor
The organising
committee:
- Dr Francois Cilliers
