APRIL 2010

Dear Scanners,

Easter has come and gone, and everybody is working really hard to prepare for the upcoming congress to be held in Bloemfontein at the Illanga Estate the weekend of the 8th of May. At this stage we just hope all our invited international speakers will be able to fly out of European airspace with the Icelandic volcano crisis.

We are looking forward to seeing Dr Lou Pistorius an ex- pat, who is currently residing in the Netherlands, back on home soil.

The congress has a wide variety of topics, intended to bring any delegate attending up to speed on current ultrasound matters.

For those art lovers among you, there will be local artists exhibiting during the congress.

We update the site with a beautiful case of screening for spina bifida in the first trimester, kindly contributed by Dr Shannon Morris. Dr Morris is in private practice at the Fetal Assessment Center, at the Kingsbury Hospital in Cape Town.

Looking forward to seeing many of you at the congress.

Regards, and happy scanning.

SEPTEMBER 2010

Dear Fellow Scanners,

It’s spring again! Only to remind us that Christmas is around the corner.

Fortunately the year still has a lot in store for those of you using O&G ultrasound on a regular basis.

SASUOG’s congress in Bloemfontein at the Illanga estate was a great success.

A big thank you to:

THE CONGRESS ORGANISING COMMITTEE and in particular Dr Lizette De Coning and Dr Francois Cilliers.

International SPEAKERS  for accepting and flying out despite the volcanic ash cloud!

Local SPEAKERS for your time,

ALL DELEGATES attending,

THE TRADE for exhibiting,

LONDOCOR for streamlining.

BECAUSE OF YOU it was a great event!

You will find most of the SASUOG congress lectures posted on this website.

Upcoming ultrasound training events:

GE are presenting another Visus 3D/4D ultrasound course in Cape Town on the first weekend in October. For those of you working on 3/4D capable machines and not using the technology to it’s full extent, this is a fantastic opportunity to see how amazing this equipment really is! (Click here for the PROGRAM and REGISTRATION FORM)

The SASOG congress is coming up, the end of October in Sun City.

There is a hand’s on pre congress training venue with Dr Hennie Lombard from Steve Biko/ Pretoria East Fetal Assessment Centre and Dr Katia Bilardo Doppler expert from the Netherlands.

Hope to see you there.

Regards
